I began my journey as a maker at a very young age. The process of making something, whether it was art, craft or food, fascinated me. I loved the idea of being able to connect newly acquired skills with old ones increasing my ability to understand the how and why of the things I made. This fascination is still with me today.
A few years ago I discovered paper…not just the stuff you buy in stores but handmade paper made from plant materials gathered locally and from sources around the world. I studied how to process various plant materials and use them to make paper. From there, a new door opened. Since then, I have followed the path beyond that open door with joy and curiosity, exploring hand papermaking and the wide spectrum of paper arts. I’m glad to say that being a maker continues to excite and invigorate me. Come along with me on this never ending journey!
